Sandro Ferretto had spent years devoted to his vocation when something in Kenya changed his life.
The Italian priest was parish priest in Kasiela and Mochongoi, in Baringo County, where his missionary work led him to cross paths with Sharon Jepng’ok, a Tugen woman and daughter of former councillor John Wendot. What began as an encounter in the course of his pastoral work gradually became something he could no longer ignore: a relationship that led him to rethink everything he had built up to that point.
Ferretto chose love and left the priesthood. He married Sharon in a traditional ceremony in Seretion Village, Kasiela, south of Baringo, surrounded by family, friends, and the community he had served for years. Today he is starting over, no longer as a missionary, but as a husband.
