At 48, Carles Puyol, the man who lifted the World Cup with Spain in 2010 and captained Barcelona, gets up with his daughters, Manuela and María, aged 10 and 12, and takes them to school.

Afterward, he makes the most of those hours to exercise, goes for walks in the mountains with his dogs, and attends a work meeting or two. In the afternoon, he goes back to pick them up at the school gates.
He lives in Andorra with his partner, Vanesa Lorenzo, whom he has been with for more than ten years: “It’s a very quiet, very family-oriented life, and that’s what I like”.

Retired since 2014, he remains an ambassador for the club that has been his life and says he tries not to miss a single Barça match from home.
From Camp Nou to the mountains, the defender with the trademark long hair found his best position: full-time dad.
