Daniela Fox and her friend @lasharay_2.0 were recording a video together right in the middle of the street when they saw a grandmother approaching.
They braced themselves for the usual: that disapproving look, that sotto voce comment they’ve had to hear so many times. But the woman just wanted to know if they needed someone to take some photos of them. Surprised, they thanked her with all the tenderness in the world and carried on with what they were doing, smiling.
At the end of the video, they were overcome with emotion: they said they love grandmas, that they’re “like a raisin”, and amid laughter, another added, “like a Labubu”. A thirty-second encounter on an ordinary sidewalk ended up reminding us that sometimes prejudice exists only in our heads 💕
