It’s like his lucky fin: Baby was born with a rare condition… he has 4 fingers on his hand

A baby went viral for being born with a “lucky fin” or “aleta de la suerte”, as many families call some limb differences. The nickname is a bit reminiscent of Nemo, the little fish from the movie who also had a smaller fin… and we already know how that left us all.

In his case, it is symbrachydactyly in his right hand, a condition that occurs in approximately 1 out of every 30 thousand to 40 thousand births. His mom, Claire, learned during pregnancy that her son Ronan would be born this way, but the tests confirmed that he was healthy.

And of course, although for any family news like this can bring fear at first, they chose to look at it from a different perspective. Not as something he lacked, but as a unique part of him.

Far from seeing it as something bad, Claire and her husband said they fell in love with how special their son is and with that small difference that already makes him recognizable. For them, his “aleta de la suerte” does not limit him: it is simply part of his story.

Now they hope to watch him grow, adapt, and conquer the world in his own way. Because if Nemo taught us anything, it’s that a different fin does not keep you from going far.
