Anna Yenith Taborda knew her dad had never seen the sea. He was 82 years old, and that dream was still waiting to come true.
One day, she surprised him and took him to a beach in Tolú, in the Colombian Caribbean. She took out her phone and started recording. At first, he didn’t say much: he stood still, gazing at that vast expanse of blue he had only ever imagined throughout his life. Then he let out, almost in a whisper: “Oh, wow, just look, how beautiful”.
What happened next was something no one expected. The man timidly approached the shore, took a few steps, and suddenly ran and jumped into the water, laughing like a child on his first day of vacation. As seen in the video, he also swam among the fish and enjoyed a boat ride.
Anna shared it on social media with a message that says so much: “There are moments that can only be understood with the heart… I love you, Dad”. And the video went viral.
