Seth Rogen doesn’t usually talk about one of his films this way.
Babies, written by his wife Lauren, tells the story of a couple —played by him and Anna Kendrick— who face the question of whether or not they want to become parents. It’s no coincidence: Seth and Lauren have publicly said that they don’t plan to have children, and this time they decided to bring that decision to the screen.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Rogen was direct: “Lauren made a very honest film about her thought process and ours as a couple. When I watch it, it’s surprisingly personal, honestly, and about very intimate things in our lives.”
And he added something that sums it all up: “It’s very brave to expose yourself like that, to write about the most personal things you have.” Few actors admit that a work of fiction is, in reality, almost a mirror.
