Mexican vedette Lyn May recalled one of the hardest moments of her life: when cooking oil was injected into her face, believing it was a cosmetic treatment. At that time she was young and, as she recounted, a woman convinced her that she would look more attractive if she applied that substance.
Over time, her skin became inflamed and hard lumps appeared in different areas of her face, consequences of what in reality was not collagen, but ordinary oil.
The situation worsened over the years, forcing her to undergo multiple procedures in an attempt to correct the damage. She even confessed that she became so desperate that she thought about taking her own life.
Today, her case is an example of the risks of undergoing treatments without medical backing.
