In Japan, a burger has just broken all the rules of the classic menu: the meat is no longer the star.

DomDom Burger, the Japanese chain famous for its unconventional creations, introduced a version where a sesame bun can barely contain a tower of fresh lettuce leaves. It is not entirely vegetarian — shrimp and mayonnaise are hidden between the layers — but the green crunch is what dominates every bite. They call it, quite simply, the “pure lettuce burger”.

It costs about 690 yen, roughly $4 or $5, and arrived as a limited-time offer. If you like fresh and light over heavy, this could be your next obsession — while it lasts.
