Gracelisa Akers was 25 years old and working as a bartender at The Orbit Room in Grand Rapids, Michigan, when Jared Leto’s band played there on April 19, 2011. A crew member invited her backstage: Leto wanted to meet her.
He greeted her with an elbow bump, saying he was a germophobe. But according to her account, minutes later he had his arm around her waist, was playing with her hair, and trying to hold her hand. She rejected him and he got upset. 😬
What came next was worse: he followed her to her car and bombarded her with messages, including an almost-nude selfie in the shower that nobody asked for.
Her testimony joins those of four other women this week who accuse Leto of abusive conduct involving power.
