The confession appeared on the cover of Esquire in 2015, when he was promoting Spy alongside Melissa McCarthy, his first serious foray into comedy. There, he admitted something curious: making people laugh scared him more than blowing up cars, because, according to him, a bad action movie can still entertain with its car chases, but a bad comedy simply isn’t good for anything.
