Jasper arrived at Kelli’s home in 2010, wrapped as a Christmas present. No one then imagined everything that this little Sphynx, without a single strand of hair, would have to face.
The feline herpesvirus caused constant flare-ups in his eyes. In 2013, a corneal ulcer forced veterinarians to remove one; two years later, the same fate befell the second. Jasper became completely blind. And as if that wasn’t enough, in April 2019 he suffered a stroke that robbed him even of the ability to orient himself by instinct.
Today he lives in Maine, United States, with Kelli, who cares for him with a dedication that includes placing him in a safe pen every time she leaves home. Rather than hide him, Kelli decided to show him just as he is: hairless, eyeless, but full of life.
