Jesy Nelson, former member of Little Mix, was in the hospital room when she heard the words that would change her life forever. 🎗️
Her twin daughters, Ocean Jade and Story Monroe, born prematurely in May 2025, spent three months in hospital before receiving the diagnosis: spinal muscular atrophy type 1. Nelson, now separated from Zion Foster, the girls’ father, says that moment will “break my heart for the rest of my life”.
Today she has turned that pain into a cause: she is asking for the UK to include SMA in the heel-prick test given to every newborn, because detecting it early can change everything.
