Joe Manganiello asked for a simple hug and didn’t get one. 💔
The 49-year-old actor writes in his memoir Bloodlines that during his seven-year battle with an autoimmune disease, his marriage to Sofía Vergara became “completely devoid of emotion”. He says she refused to hug him even when he begged her to. By then, he had lost 27 kilos and was living with an ostomy bag after emergency surgery in 2016.
In 2019, the pain was so severe that, he recounts, he thought about taking his own life. He gave away his gun because he couldn’t stop thinking about it, and shortly afterward, Bubbles arrived, a chihuahua he adopted. “I went from being the patient to being the caregiver”, he says. He also claims Vergara made fun of the little dog.
