Judy Sheindlin is 83 years old and has just closed a chapter that began three decades ago. 🎬
She announced it on Good Morning America on September 9, 2026, seated alongside her son Adam Levy: after 25 seasons of Judge Judy and 4 more of Judy Justice, she is stepping away from the cameras.
The finale arrives on October 22, right on her birthday, and CBS has already paid tribute to her with a 90-minute special called Judge Judy: Unfiltered, Unforgettable.
But Judy isn’t going anywhere. 👩⚖️ She will be the executive producer of Adam’s Law, her son’s new program, which is already set to premiere on the network she dominated for years, and she is preparing Judyverse, her own animated project.
Her representative summed it up better than anyone: “Judge Sheindlin isn’t retiring”, she’s simply swapping the gavel for another chair.
