A 22-year-old woman was hospitalized in the United States after undergoing an MRI without disclosing that she was wearing an anal plug. According to a report submitted by a healthcare professional to the Food and Drug Administration, the patient began screaming in pain after the scan had ended and technicians were removing her from the machine.
According to the report, the young woman said she felt intense pain, nausea, and that she was about to faint. Medical staff called for an ambulance and she was taken to a hospital. However, the patient’s subsequent condition was never publicly reported.
