Justin Trudeau caused discomfort during a conference on women when he recalled an anecdote from when he was a teacher.

The former prime minister said that a student complained about an alleged double standard in the school dress code: he was reprimanded for wearing his shirt untucked, while some female students wore skirts shorter than allowed without receiving the same treatment.

The story became uncomfortable when Trudeau explained that, according to the student, male teachers avoided correcting the teenage girls because of how delicate it was to talk to them about the length of their skirts.
