Kacey Musgraves turned 38 onstage, literally. 🎂🪩
It was on August 20 at Chicago’s United Center, the opening night of her ‘Middle of Nowhere Tour.’ To sing ‘Rhinestoned,’ she appeared suspended in the air, mounted on a structure covered in rhinestones with two enormous shiny spheres hanging beneath her. The design was meant to dazzle. And it did, but not as the production team expected.
Within seconds, social media dubbed the accessory the ‘nutsack disco ball,’ and no one could stop seeing it that way. Musgraves herself laughed about it after getting up there, joking during the show about needing ‘two anatomically correct and shiny balls’ for the performance.
Her tour, which promotes the album ‘Middle of Nowhere’ and will span 36 dates before wrapping up at Wembley in February 2027, kicked off with memes instead of serious headlines about her outfit. 😅
