This is how she celebrated with Daisy Dove, the daughter she had with Orlando Bloom. In the image, she appears breastfeeding her when she was a newborn, looking at her with that exhausted, emotional, and completely in-love mom face all at once.
The photo also hits differently because Katy has gone through several changes in her personal life (not all of them good). Today she is linked to Justin Trudeau, but that does not erase that her breakup with Orlando Bloom was difficult and marked the end of an important chapter for her.
That is why Daisy comes across as something much bigger than a sweet Mother’s Day photo. She is the daughter who arrived in the middle of a love story that later broke apart, but still left her with something enormous.
And looking at that image, the message makes perfect sense. Katy did not speak about perfect, postcard motherhood. She spoke about that brutal and beautiful moment at once: surviving childbirth and coming back with a life in your arms.
