Inside a room at Hotel Del Sol, on Highway 29 in Escambia County, Florida, the three men shared the same space. What happened next left one dead and the other with a bullet wound to the leg.

According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office report, the first victim managed to get out of the room, staggered away to the vacant building next to the hotel, and collapsed there. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. The second victim survived with a wound to the leg. The suspect, 23-year-old Ke’Shawn Warren, fled north, jumped a fence, and in the attempt injured his leg and arm. He was arrested hours later, that same Wednesday, June 10, 2026, and is being held in the county jail without bond, facing charges of murder and attempted murder.

Sheriff Chip Simmons said the motive remains unclear and that shootings of this nature in broad daylight are uncommon in the area. The investigation remains open.
