Keri Russell didn’t answer the phone. Long before they were a couple, she and Matthew Rhys crossed paths after a party where they had played kickball. Matthew had had too much to drink and, as he recalled years later, approached her to ask for her number. Keri gave it to him, but didn’t return his calls. 😂
Nearly a decade later, they were both cast as the leads in “The Americans”. During one of their first rehearsals, while they were practicing fight scenes, Keri recognized him: “Oh, you know we’ve met before”. Matthew then remembered that night and the calls that had gone unanswered.
What began with a number that went unanswered turned into a real-life relationship. By 2017, when ABC News published the story, they were already a couple and had their first child together. ❤️
