Kevin Kampl had everything a footballer dreams of: a regular spot at Leipzig, the Bundesliga, a solid career. But in just 7 months he lost his brother and his father, and something inside him broke.
Before saying goodbye, he wanted to thank the people who had supported him for so many years: he gave more than 4.444 liters of beer to the fans. A simple gesture to close a chapter he could no longer carry on.
Today he lives in Mallorca with his wife and two children, surrounded by plants instead of spotlights. “I had a terrible year. The peace we have here has done us a lot of good”.
“We have fruit and vegetables, and I always keep up with what Leipzig is doing”, he said. Sometimes revenge is not about winning again, but about learning to live in peace 🌿
