A kindergarten teacher sparked outrage after being caught on video using a rope to keep her young students “tied together” during a school field trip.
While she insists it’s the only way to prevent one of them from getting lost or running into traffic, thousands of parents are outraged, calling the scene “humiliating” and “educationally inappropriate.”
The school has already announced that it will review its protocols, but the debate has already exploded: Is it a necessary measure in the face of staff shortages, or are we treating children as if they were pets?
“I’d rather face criticism on social media than see a child get run over” is the argument echoed by those who support the measure.
For its part, the educational institution has issued a statement saying that “more appropriate” supervision methods will be evaluated for future outings.
