Kivianna Linnette was 26 years old and was in her ninth month of pregnancy in Puerto Rico. She was expecting twins for the first time, and although she had no preexisting health condition, a twin pregnancy in a first-time mother always carries a risk that no one can promise to fully control.
Something went wrong during labor. The doctors did everything possible to save her and her babies, but they were only able to accomplish one of those two things. Kivianna did not make it.
Her twins did. They were born alive and today remain stable in the hospital, growing up with the name of a mother who will no longer be able to see them, but who gave them absolutely everything. Julio Esteves, a close friend of the family, shared how this loss shook everyone who knew her. 💔👶
