“Knowing when to retire before suffering serious consequences.” That phrase was said by Raúl Carrasco, one of the most respected bodybuilding coaches worldwide, on Miguel Navarro’s channel.

Carrasco was direct: he understands that someone outside the sport might see an extreme physique and think it is unhealthy, but he insists that such criticism ignores the full context. According to him, bodybuilding works in short cycles of peak performance, and the key is knowing when to stop before paying too high a price.

The debate flared up after bodybuilder Jordi Benlliure came out to defend his colleagues on social media: “You see a person who is a bodybuilder and it seems like anything is allowed”, he said, pointing to envy as the driving force behind the criticism. Carrasco went further and concluded: “It saddens me that people give opinions and talk without knowing.” What do you think: admiration or genuine concern for health?
