While his rivals at the 2026 World Cup probably unpacked state-of-the-art headphones and a PS5, Jules Koundé opened his suitcase and pulled out a PlayStation 1.

The same console that hit the market in December 1994, when the Barcelona defender was exactly zero years old. He hooked the device up to the TV in his room at the French camp, turned on the original Sony intro, and uploaded it to his Instagram Stories. The internet, naturally, exploded. 😂

“What game could he be playing?” became the most debated question of the day. ClaroSports bet on Winning Eleven, and forum veterans are already at war over whether it was Tony Hawk or Crash Bandicoot.

The only thing confirmed: Koundé did not even reveal the title, leaving half the world in the most absurd suspense of this World Cup. 🎮

France opens against Senegal on June 16. If Koundé plays like he does on the pitch, Didier Deschamps will not care that his defender is warming up with technology from the last century. He will still win. 🇫🇷⚽
