“Keep dreaming because dreams do come true and we support you.” Gilberto Mora Zambrano is 17 years old and has already done what no one had done at a World Cup since 1958: start at such a young age that only Pelé surpassed him. He was born in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, and today he plays as an attacking midfielder for Club Tijuana.

His story with number one does not begin on the field. At 15 years and 10 months old, he was already the youngest goal scorer in Liga MX history. At 16 he was crowned champion of the 2025 Gold Cup, the youngest international title won with Mexico. And in June 2026, against Ecuador, he broke the record again.

Those who saw him grow up did not stay silent. Colegio La Paz, in Chiapas, published a message recalling that he took his first steps there in preschool, before becoming a global prospect. 🇲🇽⚽
