Leigh Pugh walked for hours through the Peak District in England, hoping to photograph the sunrise at Stanton Moor Edge.

The sky was too cloudy, so he gave up and headed back. It was just as he turned around that he saw it: a frost-covered rock had formed, without anyone’s help, a huge and perfectly defined eye. “”I couldn’t believe how real it looked,”” Pugh said, still surprised by the coincidence of having passed by at exactly the right moment. ❄️

When he uploaded the photo to social media, people began debating whether the eye belonged to a fish or a dragon. No one can agree, but everyone agrees on one thing: that rock was more worthwhile than the sunrise he never got to photograph. 🌄
