His owners walked into the kitchen and their hearts sank. For a second, they feared the worst: that something terrible had happened to their corgi. They approached with trembling hands, ready to find a wound, an emergency, a real disaster. Instead, they found a completely happy dog, covered from head to toe in red syrup, lying in the mess as if it were his favorite bed.
The syrup bottle had tipped over on its own, and Cartier, far from being scared, decided that the sticky puddle deserved a nap on top of it. Photos of the fake ‘crime scene’ were uploaded to Facebook, and within hours they had more than 10.000 reactions, nearly 6.000 comments, and 11.000 shares. The entire internet recognized that exact moment when panic turns into laughter, and laughter into the urge to hug that corgi covered in sweetness up to his ears.
