Imagine that nature decides to create the largest seed on the planet, but with the exact shape of a naked human butt. This is the Coco de Mer, a botanical jewel that grows only on the islands of Praslin and Curieuse, in the remote Seychelles.

The reality is that this natural “work of art” is no miniature. Each enormous nut can weigh up to 50 kilograms when fully mature. It takes between 6 and 7 years to reach its peculiar and suggestive final shape. Quite an eternity to cultivate so much temptation!

Scientists care for these rare palms with devotion, amazed by evolution’s mischievousness.
