Lothar Matthäus returned to the place where it all began.
The 1990 world champion, now 64, was seen being very affectionate alongside 27-year-old Theresa Sommer at Munich’s Oktoberfest.
Designer Kinga Mather uploaded the photos to Instagram, and one image was enough to get half the internet talking about them: “they were being lovey-dovey”, as people described it.
The story between the two began in April 2025, during a skiing trip in Austria, and, interestingly, they had met a year earlier at that same festival. Since then, they have been seen together at the UEFA Nations League final and the Ballon d’Or.
Matthäus has already been married five times, most recently to a woman who was also much younger than him. This time, according to The Sun, there reportedly are no wedding plans in sight.
