England had just eliminated DR Congo 2-1 at the 2026 World Cup ⚽. Harry Kane had scored a brace, the celebration was total at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Bellingham was walking toward the locker room, ready to celebrate.

Until he heard one word: Venezuela 🇻🇪. It was the journalist Manu Gutiérrez, 30, who lives with spastic cerebral palsy and fulfilled the dream of covering a World Cup, who asked him. Bellingham stopped, looked at him, and replied in Spanish: “Strength and lots of love to everyone in Venezuela”.

The country had been hit by earthquakes that left 1.943 dead and more than 50.000 missing. A Real Madrid star, in his moment of glory, chose to think about others’ pain. Now England is going up against Mexico at the Azteca 🙌.
