Mané Díaz, the father of Colombian footballer Luiz Díaz, could not hold back his tears when he opened a packet and found his son’s sticker in the 2026 World Cup album.
“I don’t just see the player in the album, I see the boy who dreamed big, the one who never gave up. And who today made the whole world dream”, his father said through tears.
The video was deeply moving because it reflects the whole story of sacrifice behind “Lucho”. Before becoming a global star, Luis Díaz grew up playing in humble conditions and struggling alongside his family to get ahead.
That is why, for his father, that simple sticker did not represent a football celebrity, but rather the boy who dreamed of succeeding one day. Just days away from his first World Cup.
