Luiz Costa de Oliveira was 90 years old when the media in Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, told his story in 2011. A retired farmer and resident of the municipality of Campo Grande, he said he had 50 children. According to the account reported by the EFE news agency based on the Diário de Natal, it all began when his first wife died; they had 17 children. He later got together with Maria Francisca da Silva, who helped him raise the younger children and with whom he had another 17.

Her sister, Ozelita, often visited the house to help with household chores and began a relationship with him: 15 more children. In the end, their mother, Francisca Maria, 89, was also involved, and he had one child with her. The total comes to 50, although not all of them survived.

He himself claimed to have around 100 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren, figures that were not independently verified. He also admitted that he couldn’t name them all and might have more descendants out there without knowing it. According to the media, the family was split between two homes. The story is circulating on social media again, but it dates back more than a decade and there is no information about his current situation.
