Malacara gave no warning.
The bull, weighing 508 kilos and barely 4 years old, came out of the bull pen and within seconds was already on top of the barrier, with its legs hanging over the alley where people watch the bullfight from just meters away. It happened on Sunday, September 20, at the close of the Murcia Bullfighting Fair, at Plaza de La Condomina. And it was not just once: minutes later, it jumped again, this time at the height of the capes’ burladero.
One spectator was almost face-to-face with the animal when the second jump occurred and managed to record everything. The video shows the exact moment when Malacara, from the Los Espartales ranch, is suspended over the wood before falling to the other side. The bull belonged to the Portuguese rejoneador Duarte Fernandes.
The Plaza de Toros officially confirmed both jumps. Fortunately, after wandering around the alley for several minutes, Malacara was led back to the bull pen without anyone being injured.
