A man arrived at the hospital after going 32 days without being able to defecate, although he said he felt “well” and had no abdominal pain.

However, doctors discovered through a scan that he was suffering from severe fecal impaction, an extreme buildup of stool in the intestine that could cause severe complications.

To solve the problem, the medical staff had to perform a manual disimpaction, a procedure in which the accumulated material is carefully extracted using lubrication and manual maneuvers.
