Eduardo Mondaca did not expect to make a friend underwater.
The diver and marine content creator has formed an unusual friendship with an octopus he frequently visits in a coastal area of Chile. Whenever he can, he goes down to see it and brings it “a little something”.
The trust between them seems to be such that the octopus already recognizes his presence. “Octopuses know perfectly well when you have bad intentions. As soon as I touched the water, it peeked out”, Eduardo said while sharing the encounter on his social media.
The footage quickly went viral, and many internet users were reminded of My Octopus Teacher, the Oscar-winning documentary that showed the unexpected bond between a man and an octopus.
