Frédéric de Lanouvelle got on his bicycle on June 20 without telling almost anyone what the real destination was. 🚲
He was not heading to a city. He was tracing, kilometer by kilometer, the petals of a giant flower that could only be seen on GPS.
37 days later, on July 26, he had covered 5,850 kilometers and completed the entire drawing: a gift for his mother, who lives with Alzheimer’s and no longer recognizes many faces or memories.
Guinness World Records certified his route as the largest GPS drawing made by bicycle by a single person. But for Frédéric, the record was the least important thing.
Every pedal stroke was a way of telling his mother, even if she could not fully understand it: I do remember you.
