A man who had lost part of his tongue because of cancer had to undergo complex reconstructive surgery, in which doctors used tissue taken from beneath his jaw. 😮

However, months later something strange happened to us, but predictable for specialists: hair began to grow on the reconstructed tongue.

This happened because the transplanted skin retained the hair follicles and the natural characteristics of the area it was taken from, and although the images quickly drew attention because of how unusual the case was, this is actually a positive sign, since it shows that the tissue survived properly and adapted after the surgery.

Don’t worry if something like this happens to you, experts have explained that this type of situation is usually treated with laser hair removal or frequent trimming to avoid discomfort when speaking or eating. 👅
