Tyrice Fletcher, 28, was driving at more than 160 km/h through Camden, Arkansas, fleeing from police. 🚔Inside the car were his four children, all under 6 years old, including a baby girl just 4 months old.
On May 24, he lost control on a curve, went through a yard, crashed into a utility pole, and overturned just inches from live electrical wires. The impact was so violent that the little girl was thrown from the vehicle and miraculously survived without major injuries. One officer lifted her off the ground with his own hands while another approached the overturned car with his gun drawn, not knowing what he would find inside.
One of the children, from the back seat, asked if his sister was okay. Fletcher, lying in the police car minutes later, could not say the name of his own baby. “As a father, I cannot conceive that someone would decide to drive recklessly, much less flee from police, with their children in the vehicle”, said Colonel Mike Hagar. Fletcher now faces four charges of endangering a minor, among many others. 😔
