In 2015, Kaleb Whitby was just inches away from being crushed between two cargo trucks during a multi-vehicle crash involving nearly 50 vehicles in Oregon, United States.
After crashing into a truck that had lost control on the ice, another heavy-duty vehicle slid directly toward his pickup truck and left him trapped between both structures. The scene was so shocking that another driver involved in the accident took a photograph that quickly drew the attention of the media. In the image, Whitby appears trapped inside the wreckage of his vehicle while emergency crews worked at the scene.
Kaleb survived virtually unscathed. Days later, he said that his only injuries were two Band-Aids on one finger and a little ice for a blow to the eye.
