A client arrived at the DG Tattoo Art studio in Greater Manchester with an idea that sounded like a joke: he was fed up with spending money on new sneakers every so often. The solution he chose was permanent, literally.
Dean Gunther, a 34-year-old South African tattoo artist based in the UK, took the design of a pair of Nike Air Jordans and recreated them freehand directly on the skin of both feet. No stencils: that area of the body does not allow it. The sketch took him two hours, and the final tattoo took eight more.
The result ended up on Instagram and TikTok, where it surpassed two million views. Gunther had gone viral before for tattooing a permanent six-pack on another client, so for him, this is almost routine by now. 👟🖋️
