“My mother has dementia, she is having an episode”.
Last March 15, 2026 in Gwinnett County, both neighbors and officers witnessed a terrible event: An elderly woman was suffering at the hands of her own son.

Kehma Johnson, 31, appeared in front of a neighbor’s house knocking out his own mother. He claimed she was having a dementia episode, and that there was nothing to worry about. The young woman, upon seeing such a scene, immediately called 911, but not before the man pulled her by the hair.
After tracking him to his home, officer R. Carrillo-Julian was able to confirm that Johnson was not in his right mind. He admitted that he had smoked, although his behavior suggested a much deeper crisis.

The confusing dialogue went on for several minutes until the man began to shout and slowly advance toward the officer. Despite warnings that he would use the Taser, Kehma seemed to remain in his trance. Immediately afterward, he received the electric shock for not obeying.

Officer Carillo-Julian had to call for backup because the man was writhing to avoid arrest. It was reported that getting him into the patrol car and transporting him was chaotic due to his lack of cooperation

Johnson now faces a considerable list of serious charges that reflect the seriousness of his actions. His mother was placed under the care of the authorities to rule out other types of injuries
