He went to none other than The Doctors on the CBS network to tell the story in front of the cameras, without a single hint of embarrassment. Since selling organs is illegal in the United States, he disguised it as a “donation for medical research” in exchange for a “standard fee” of 35.000 dollars, almost the exact price of the car he wanted. He even calculated that participating in medical studies saved him 700 dollars a year on checkups.
Everything sounded like a great deal… until it wasn’t. As it later became known, Parisi neither lost the testicle nor saw a single dollar of those 35.000. The car of his dreams remained where it had always been: in his imagination. Sometimes the perfect plan has only one flaw, and that’s that it never gets carried out.
