On April 30, 2009, in Cleveland, USA, Walter Triplett Jr. was involved in a fight outside a bar that ended with the death of Michael Corrado.

It all began when, according to his account, he tried to defend his twin sister after she was assaulted. During the struggle, he punched two men; one of them fell, hit his head on the ground, and died.

Although he claimed he acted to protect his family, he was sentenced to 18 years in prison, later increased to 20 after a new trial. He spent around 15 years behind bars until he was granted early release in 2025.

Today he is free, but the case still sparks debate about self-defense and the use of force.
