He wanted revenge with his fists, but he didn’t know the elderly man wasn’t alone
The incident occurred in a building that has several nightlife venues in the city of Taichung, Taiwan. An 80-year-old man named Hong wanted to go down in the elevator when a group of three young men tried to get in on the same floor. As the elevator doors were closing, they accidentally hit one of them, a 25-year-old man surnamed Hu.
The young man was under the influence of alcohol, and that small mistake made him explode and take it out on the elderly man.
Despite all of Hong’s apologies, and even though he did not defend himself, Hu kept trying to pick a fight even after they had already left the elevator and reached the first floor. However, the young man did not count on the elderly man not being alone.
His friends, with whom he had arrived at the place, were in the bar on the upper floor. When they learned about the situation, two of them immediately went down to defend the elderly man and attacked with enormous fury, beating Hu until they left him lying on the ground.
The building staff called the police, although by the time they arrived, the fight was already over. However, they still arrested both Hu and the two friends of the elderly man who came down to fight back. All three were charged with disturbing public order.
