Robert Langlais, 33, ran across the roof of a house in Fall River, Massachusetts, on the night of December 10, 2024.

Police were executing a search warrant at 127 Canal Street, and he saw only one way out: climb up, cross the rooftops, and disappear. Another man managed to escape by jumping into a parked car. Langlais chose to hide inside a chimney, where he remained, literally stuck, unable to go up or down.

The same detectives he was fleeing from had to call the firefighters to get him out. A neighbor, Jim Medeiros, summed it up this way: “he came down like Santa Claus”. Emergency crews removed part of the structure to free him and took him to the hospital as a precaution before releasing him. Once recovered, he was arrested for drug possession and several outstanding warrants that had been awaiting him since before.
