James Myers, 33, had spent weeks evading authorities in Flagler County, Florida, when on June 5, 2026, the fugitive team arrived at a residence in Bunnell with a felony arrest warrant. Myers had failed to appear in court to answer previous charges that included grand theft, fleeing and eluding, driving with a suspended license, extreme speeding, and resisting law enforcement. All stemming from the alleged theft of a truck in March. That time he also tried to hide. They found him under a house, and K-9 Uno left him with a bite as a souvenir.
This time he thought the air conditioning system would be enough. Investigators found him literally folded inside the air handler, wedged behind the ducts, while the operation deployed an armored truck, a drone, and another K-9 unit outside. His girlfriend, Joann Rosario, 36, was arrested at the same time while hiding in a closet in the same home and charged with obstruction of justice.
Myers was booked without bond into the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility. Rosario was released.
