Sol Varacalli was 28 years old, from Ramos Mejía, and a mother. Three years ago, she had been diagnosed with ocular melanoma, which later metastasized to her liver. Her family launched a campaign to raise 55 million Argentine pesos to pay for a highly complex treatment with imported medication. 🙏
María Becerra saw her story on social media and decided to help: she got in touch with Sol, committed to covering the treatment, and even visited her at home before the procedure. Later, she also accompanied her during her stay at the Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires, in a gesture that moved thousands.
The surgery went well, but the disease kept progressing. This July 8, her family confirmed her death through Instagram. María Becerra said goodbye to her with a message that is now spreading across social media: a story that began with an act of solidarity and ended up touching countless people. 💔
