Mark Lees once weighed 175 kilos.

The truck driver from Doncaster, England, wore size 54 trousers and 6XL clothing. Years of fast food between long shifts behind the wheel had brought him to a point he himself describes as the limit. He played football when he was young, just for fun with friends, but that pitch had felt distant for a long time.

Everything changed when he joined MAN v FAT Football, a programme designed exclusively for overweight or obese men, which now brings together more than 8,500 players at 170 clubs across the United Kingdom. Mark lost more than 63 kilos playing the sport he had once left behind, and now says he has added a whole decade to his life expectancy. His 6XL shirt no longer fits him, and that is the best proof that the change was real.
