Matt Damon didn’t go to a shelter to pose for a photo.
He joined Clear The Shelters, the campaign that since 2015 has traveled across the United States looking for homes for animals no one wants to adopt. This August, with Hill’s Pet Nutrition as the main sponsor for the first time, more than 1,200 shelters in 153 cities opened their doors at the same time. The result: 135,000 pets found families and nearly 500,000 dollars were raised to support the shelters that cared for them while they waited.

Since it began, the initiative has already reached 1.3 million adoptions. Each one started the same way: an animal in a cage, waiting for someone to take a second look. This year, Matt Damon was the one who helped more people take a second look.
